Dave Antonow is an accomplished jazz and commercial performer playing guitar, upright, and electric bass. He studied jazz under Thad Jones at William Paterson University in New Jersey and also studied extensively and privately with renowned double bassist Michael Moore and with renowned jazz guitarist Jack Wilkins in New York City. Additionally,
Dave has studied jazz guitar and harmony with Vic Juris in West Orange, New Jersey.
Dave has shared the stage with many jazz greats, such as Phil Woods, Thad Jones, Elvin Jones, Stanley Turrentine, Chris Brubeck, Spyro Gyra, Bob James, Elliot Zigmund, Bill Goodwin,
Eric Mintel, and Carla White, among others.
He has also worked extensively in live musical theater, and as a freelance guitarist and bassist in and around the New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia area. Dave toured with the USO through Germany, performing for US personnel and has also worked as musical director, conductor and arranger for the Dovell's, Danny and the Juniors, The Shirelles and has been featured on Dick Clark's Cavalcade of Stars. Dave continues to perform nationally at jazz festivals, and teach master classes and clinics in colleges, conservatories and universities. He has appeared in national television performances on WPIX in New York, and on the QVC network, in addition to many public television spots. Dave has peformed multiple times at The Kennedy Center in Washington, The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, The United Nations, The Grand Opera in Wilmington Delaware, as well as at major jazz clubs throughout the United States.
Dave also recently had the honor of performing by invitation
for President Obama and The First Lady at the White House.
